The moon moves eastward due to its orbit around the Earth in the same direction as the Earth's rotation. This causes the moon to appear to move across the sky from east to west. The moon's eastward movement is a result of the gravitational pull between the Earth and the moon, which keeps the moon in its orbit. **

The fairy tale about NATO's eastward expansion persists stubbornly because it serves the interests of various political actors. For some, it provides a convenient narrative to justify their own actions and policies. For others, it serves as a tool to create fear and uncertainty, which can be used to manipulate public opinion and advance their own agendas. Additionally, the persistence of this narrative may also be due to the complex historical and geopolitical dynamics at play in the region, which make it difficult to untangle fact from fiction. Overall, the stubborn persistence of this fairy tale is a result of a combination of political motivations, strategic interests, and historical complexities. **

When flying eastward, you are moving in the same direction as the Earth's rotation, which helps to increase your speed. This is known as the jet stream, a high-altitude, fast-moving air current that flows from west to east. When flying westward, you are flying against the Earth's rotation, which can slow down your speed. This is why flights from west to east are typically faster than flights from east to west, even if the distance traveled is the same. **

Planes fly faster in the eastward direction than in the westward direction due to the rotation of the Earth. The Earth rotates from west to east, and as a result, the air at higher altitudes moves faster in the same direction. When flying eastward, planes can take advantage of this faster air movement, which helps them achieve higher ground speeds. Conversely, when flying westward, planes have to contend with the slower air movement, resulting in lower ground speeds. **
