Cotyledons are the seed leaves of a plant embryo. They are the first leaves to emerge from a germinating seed and are responsible for providing the initial nutrients and energy for the young plant until it can begin photosynthesis. Cotyledons can come in different forms, such as one or two seed leaves, and can vary in size and shape depending on the plant species. They are an essential part of the early growth and development of a plant. **

Apple tree seedlings with three cotyledons are extremely rare and not commonly found in nature. This phenomenon is known as tricotyledonous germination and is considered a genetic mutation. While it is possible for apple tree seedlings to have three cotyledons, it is not a common occurrence and is typically seen as a unique anomaly in the plant world. **

Cotyledons are the first leaves to emerge from a seed and are responsible for providing nutrients to the developing seedling. They often look different from subsequent leaves because they are specialized for this specific function. Cotyledons are often thicker and more fleshy than true leaves, as they are designed to store and provide the energy needed for the seedling to establish itself. Once the seedling has developed a root system and can photosynthesize on its own, subsequent leaves will take on a more typical leaf shape and function. **

The sections of a plant from the root to the first cotyledons are called the radicle and hypocotyl. The radicle is the embryonic root, and the hypocotyl is the stem-like region between the radicle and the cotyledons. From the cotyledons to the first true leaves, the sections are called the epicotyl and the first true leaves. The epicotyl is the region of the stem above the cotyledons where the first true leaves emerge. **

The caricature of the summit conference in Helsinki shows the leaders of the United States and Russia, Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, sitting at a table with Trump holding a puppet string attached to Putin.
